Location:In Washington County, 3 miles southeast of Boonsboro, off Alternate Route 40.
Facilities:Youth group campsites, picnic area (é) and shelters, playground,playing fields, hiking trails, historic structure, museum (é).
Activities:Camping, hiking, cross-country skiing, bird watching, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Park gets its name from the first monument dedicated to George Washington. It is a rugged stone tower, erected on a craggy mountainside by the citizens of Boonsboro in 1827. The Appalachian National Scenic Trail (see entry in national trails section) passes the base of the monument.
