Special Features:The watercress darter is a small, colorful fish found in the watercress zone of springs and spring runs. Just seven locations are known to support the 2-inch-long darter -- all in the upper Black Warrior River drainage near Birmingham.
Habitats: 23 acres of bushy vegetation with a .25-acre pond.
Access: Open during daylight hours.
