Wells, Malcolm

(1926–2009)A pioneer of the green roof movement, Wells refocused his priorities after realizing the pavilion he designed for RCA at the 1964 World’s Fair would soon be torn down and consigned to a landfill. He then looked for ways to build in harmony with the land and to leave as light a footprint on it as possible. He designed numerous homes and offices with green roofs, most with passive heat.
