White, Joseph M.

(1781–1839) lawyer, U.S. representative; born in Franklin County, Ky. Knowledge of French and Spanish gained him clients in Pensacola, and he represented Floridians in the U.S. House of Representatives (Dem., 1825–37). An eloquent speaker, he also published New Collection of Laws, Charters, etc., of Great Britain, France, and Spain (1839).
