Established: 1901.
Location:20 miles northwest of Lawton, Oklahoma, in Comanche County.
Facilities:Campground, primitive campsites, youth camp, visitor center, trails, picnic areas.
Activities:Camping, fishing, hiking, rock climbing.
Special Features:More than 50 mammal species, 240 bird species, 64 reptile and amphibian species, 36 fish species, and 806 plant species thrive at this refuge.
Habitats: 59,020 acres of prairie grasslands, rocky outcrops, and oak forest.
Access: Year round.
Wild life: American bison, Rocky Mountain elk, white-tailed deer, and Texas longhorn cattle.
