Wijk, Nicolaas Van

 

Born 1880; died 1942. Dutch philologist and Slavist. Professor at the University of Leiden from 1913. Worked on the history of Slavic writing and phonetics (the history of stress in the Slavic languages), and phonology. He was also interested in Slavic dialectology and the problems of dialectal blending.
