Location:On Flathead Lake, across from Big Arm State Park via boat to Little Skeeko Bay on the northwest side of the island.
Facilities:Hiking trails (1 mile), vault toilet (composting).
Activities:Fishing, swimming, hiking, wildlife viewing.
Special Features:Island is the largest on Flathead Lake, and boat access is regulated toprotect it. It preserves an endangered palouse prairie environment,historic resources, and wildlife, including bighorn sheep, mule deer,and wild horses. The Salish-Kootenai Indians were reported to have usedthe island to pasture horses to keep them from being stolen by othertribes.
