Wilson, Louis (Round)

(1876–1979) librarian, educator; born in Lenoir, N.C. He graduated from the University of North Carolina (Ph.D., 1905) and stayed on to plan the library school and develop the university's extensive Carolina history collection; he also served as dean of the extension program and editor of the university press. He spent ten years (1932–42) as the first dean of the University of Chicago Graduate Library School before returning to the University of North Carolina until his retirement in 1959.
