Wood Flour

 

a fine loose product obtained by the dry mechanical grinding of wood shavings. The size of the particles is determined by sieve analysis and varies from 150 to 420 (the number corresponds to the aperture size of the sorting sieve in microns). Its moisture content does not exceed 8 percent.

Wood flour is used in explosives, phenolic plastic, linoleum, xylolith, and other building materials, as well as in the production of titanium dioxide and in the furniture industry. It is also used as a grinding and polishing material. Wood flour produced in impact mills, millstone mills, and in pendulum-roller mills and is graded in screening machines or in air separators.
