(wŏrld helth ōr'găn-ī-zā'shŭn prōb) A periodontal probe developed by the World Health Organization and used with the Periodontal Screening and Recording (PSR) System for periodontal assessment. The WHO probe has a colored band (called the reference marking) located 3.5-5.5 mm from the probe tip.
