Clinical findings
Abscesses, septic arthritis, osteomyelitis.
Examples
AMIs include those with M avium-intracellulare complex (associated with AIDS) and M marinum (seen in the Chesapeake Bay region, affecting fishermen and aquarium keepers) and M ulcerans (endemic to the banks of the upper Nile).
Management
Difficult due to multidrug resistance.
