Aubouin, Jean

 

Born May 5, 1928, in Évreux, Eure Department. French geologist. Professor of geology at the Pierre and Marie Curie University of Paris (1961).

Aubouin’s main works deal with tectonics, stratigraphy, and geological cartography. Aubouin has written special works devoted to the geology of the Mediterranean region and the tectonics and morphology of the Alps, as well as to the Andes and geosynclines.

In 1976, Aubouin became a foreign member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR.
