Yalung Chiang
Yalung Chiang
a river in China; a left tributary of the Yangtze. The Yalung Chiang is 1,187 km long and drains an area of 144,000 sq km. The river rises in the Baian-Khara Mountains and flows through deep, winding gorges in the Tahsüe Shan, where it forms many rapids and waterfalls. The mean flow rate is approximately 2,000 cu m per sec. The Yalung’s water level rises in the summer.
