Yang foods have a higher caloric content, tend to have a high fat content, raise metabolism and increase the body’s heat. An excess in yang foods results in acne and bad breath. Yang foods are grown in a cold and wet environment; they are dry, short and hard, tend to be sour or salty, and include stems, roots, seeds, meat, poultry, hard cheese and eggs.
