(yōk-kī`chē), city (1990 pop. 274,180), Mie prefecture, W Honshu, Japan, a port on Ise Bay. It is a manufacturing center that produces banko ware (a kind of porcelain), automobiles, cotton textiles, chemicals, tea, cement, and computer parts.

Other industries are cotton cloth, porcelain and ceramics, and glass products. Nonferrous metallurgy (a copper smelting plant) and electric machine construction are also important. There is a steam power plant with a capacity of 660, 000 kilowatts. The city is also a seaside health resort.
