Yongampo

city and port in the Korean People’s Democratic Republic, in the province of Pyongan-pukdo, at the mouth of the Amnok-kang (Yalu) River, which runs along the border. It is one of the principal centers for the fishing industry on the northern coast of Korea on the Yellow Sea. Industrial goods produced in the city of Sinuiju are exported from Yongamp’o.
