Yützu

a city in North China, in Shansi Province. Population, 100,000 (1972). Yütz’u is a railroad junction near the city of T’aiyüan. Industry includes a large textile machine-building plant, cotton and dye factories, and a vegetable-oil mill. Coal, iron ore, and fluorites are mined in the region.
