Zagreb Rade Koncar Factory

Zagreb Rade Končar Factory

the largest enterprise in the electrical industry of Yugoslavia. The factory was built in Zagreb after World War II and was named in honor of Rade Koncar, a hero in the struggle against the fascist occupation forces. It produces electric motors, generators, transformers, welding instruments, electric consumer goods, and electrical equipment for the shipbuilding and oil-extracting industries. It also does planning and mounting work for hydroelectric and thermoelectric power plants: nearly half of the power plants constructed in Yugoslavia in the postwar period are fitted with equipment made here. A significant part of its production is exported.
