Zakhmet

an urban-type settlement in the Turkmen-Kala Raion, Mary Oblast, Turkmen SSR. It is situated on the edge of the Murgab Oasis at the intersection of the Kara-Kum Canal and the Tashkent-Krasnovodsk railway. Population, 5,000 (1970). Zakhmet has a landing and is a large transshipping and warehouse base.
