Zalesov, Polikarp Mikhailovich
Born circa 1773; died circa 1835. Russian inventor.
Zalesov graduated from the Barnaul Mining School in 1790. He was a mining engineer at the Salair Mine of the Kolyvano-Voskresenskii Works (Altai). In 1806 he worked out a plan for an active one-step steam turbine to drive a water hoist and fire-fighting pump. In 1816 the Gur’ev Silver Refining Plant was built according to Zalesov’s plan.
