Zangheri, Renato

 

Born Apr. 8, 1925, in Rimini. Figure in the Italian workers’ movement. Historian specializing in the agrarian history of Italy. Member of the Italian Communist Party (ICP) since 1944.

Between 1945 and 1956, Zangheri was a member of the steering committees of local ICP organizations in Rimini, Forli, and Bologna. Zangheri became a community magistrate in Bologna in 1956, a member of the Central Committee of the ICP in 1960, and mayor of the city of Bologna in 1970.
