释义 | ZechsteinZech´stein`
ZechsteinZechstein[′zek‚shtīn]Zechstein(or Thuringian), the name given to the Upper Permian in Central Europe—in the German Democratic Republic, Federal Republic of Germany, and Poland (seePERMIAN SYSTEM (PERIOD)). The Zechstein is represented by limestones and dolomites, with marine fauna in the lower part and salt-bearing deposits in the upper part. An ore horizon of cambric schists occurs at the base of the cross section. The carbonate deposits of the Zechstein are linked to a late Permian transgression from the Arctic Basin and correspond in age to the Ufimian and Kazanian stages. The Upper (salt-bearing) Zechstein corresponds to the Tatarian stage in the European USSR. Zechstein-type marine deposits of the Upper Permian are also developed in Great Britain, the Netherlands, and the USSR (the Baltic Region and Byelorussia). |
