Zenkov

Zen’kov

 

a city, the administrative center of Zen’kov Raion, Poltava Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, on the Tashan’ River (in the Dnieper basin), 33 km from the Gadiach railroad station. It is a highway junction. Population, 12,300 (1970). Zen’kov has a creamery, a vegetable-processing plant, two brickyards, a furniture factory, and a museum of local lore. Zen’kov was mentioned as early as 1604.
