Zhannetta Island

an island in the De Long Archipelago, in the East Siberian Sea (Yakut ASSR, RSFSR). Area, 3.3 sq km; maximum elevation, 351 m. It is composed primarily of sandstone and is covered with glaciers and névé fields. The island was named in honor of the ship Jeanette, which took part in the De Long expedition.
