Zhdanovsk

 

a city (settlement until 1966) and the administrative center of Zhdanovsk Raion, Azerbaijan SSR. Zhdanovsk is situated on the Mil’skaia Plain, 20 km north of the Dashburun railroad station on the Aliat-Dzhul’fa line. Population, 8,000 (1970). Zhdanovsk has a butter and cheese combine. The city was named in honor of A. A. Zhdanov.
