Zheltovskaia Sopka

 

an active volcano in the southern part of the Kamchatka Peninsula, 20 km north of Kuril Lake. Elevation, 1,953 m. The lower, older part is composed of basalt, and the upper part is composed of new andesite lava. Near Zheltovskaia Sopka are deposits of pumice.
