Zhiloi Island

an island in the Apsheron Archipelago, in the Caspian Sea. Area, approximately 6 sq km. Maximum elevation, 9–10 m. The island is composed of sandy-argillaceous rock and is covered with shell sand. There is sparse steppe vegetation. The settlement of Zhiloi is located on the eastern shore. Oil is extracted offshore.
