Zhirnov

an urban-type settlement in Tatsinskii Raion, Rostov Oblast, RSFSR. Situated on the right bank of the Bystraia River, a tributary of the Severskii Donets. It has a railroad station on the Morozovsk-Likhaia line. Population, 10,000 (1970). There is a dairy and a plant producing crushed stone in Zhirnov.
