(Livestock Breeding), a monthly scientific-zootechnical journal of the Ministry of Agriculture of the USSR published in Moscow since 1939. It is intended for zootechnicians, veterinarians, and teachers and students of agricultural higher educational institutions and technicums. It contains articles on the theory and practice of feed production and technology and feeding; on the economics and intensification of livestock breeding; industrial production of meat, milk, and wool; breeding of pedigree stock and genetics; reproduction of herds and raising of young animals; artificial insemination; animal physiology and morphology; and mechanization and construction work in livestock breeding. The journal also discusses livestock breeding abroad. Circulation, 121,000 copies (1971).
