Zholymbet

an urban-type settlement in Shortandy Raion in Tselinograd Oblast, Kazakh SSR. It is located 55 km east of the Shortandy railroad station on the KokchetavTselinograd line, and 100 km northeast of Tselinograd. Population, 10,000 (1970). Gold is mined in the area. In the town there is a clothing factory, as well as a branch of the Shchuchinsk Polytechnical School.
