Zhuk, Stanislav Alekseevich

 

Born Jan. 25, 1935, in Ulianovsk. Soviet athlete; Master of Sports (1957); Honored Coach of the USSR (1965); officer of the Soviet Army. Member of the CPSU since 1966.

Zhuk was champion of the USSR in figure skating from 1957 to 1959 and in 1961 and, with N. A. Zhuk, European prizewinner from 1958 to 1960. He has been a coach at the Central Sports Club of the Army (TSSKA) since 1964. Zhuk’s trainees include I. K. Rodnina and A. N. Ulanov, Olympic champions and repeatedly champions of the USSR, and S. A. Chetverukhin, T. A. Zhuk, and A. lu. Gorelik, prizewinners of European and world championships and at the Olympic Games. Zhuk has been awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor and medals.
