Zhurnal Ministerstva Putei Soobshcheniia

 

(Journal of the Ministry of Railroads), the organ of the Ministry of Railroads of Russia, published in St. Petersburg from 1826 to 1917. From 1826 to 1843 it appeared under the title Zhurnal putei soobshcheniia (Journal of Railroads), from 1845 to 1865 as Zhurnal Glavnogo upravleniia putei soobshcheniia i publichnykh zdanii (Journal of the Central Board of Railroads and Public Buildings), and from 1865 to 1876 as Zhurnal Ministerstva putei soobschcheniia (Journal of the Ministry of Railroads). Between 1876 and 1886 the official and unofficial parts of the journal were published separately under the titles Ukazatel’ pravitel’stvennykh rasporiazhenii po Ministerstvu putei soobshcheniia (Index of Government Instructions Concerning the Ministry of Railroads) and Inzhener (Engineer). From 1887 to 1889 both parts appeared in one volume. From 1889 to 1917 the unofficial part was published under the title Zhurnal Ministerstva putei soobshcheniia (Journal of the Ministry of Railroads). From 1896 to 1904 the official part appeared in the form of a supplement entitled Vestnik Ministerstva putei soobshcheniia (Bulletin of the Ministry of Railroads); from 1904 to 1917, the supplement was called Vestnik putei soobshcheniia (Bulletin of Railroads). The journal also served as a scientific and technical organ, devoted to a wide range of problems of construction and railroads. It published studies by Russian scientists on mechanics, construction, and railroad and water transport.
