zinc sulfate turbidity test

zinc sulfate turbidity test

An obsolete, semi-quantitive test for serum globulins based on precipitation by low concentrations of metal ions and subsequent turbidometric analysis. Precipitation methods are not as accurate as zonal electrophoresis, since some alpha globulins may fail to precipitate: turbidometric techniques are not specific to proteins, since other acid-insoluble substances such as nucleic acids also precipitate.
