Location:20 miles northwest of Monterey off Highway 1; take Stuve Road and turn onto Giberson Road.

Activities:Fishing, hiking, horseback riding, birdwatching.
Special Features:Beach is popular with anglers, equestrians, and bird watchers andincludes the Pájaro River estuary, where a natural preserve has beenset aside. Swimming and water sports are hazardous at this beach becauseof strong rip-currents.
