Zyrianka

an urban-type settlement and the administrative center of Verkhnekolymskii Raion, Yakut ASSR. The settlement is a landing on the left bank of the Kolyma River, at its confluence with the lasachnaia River, 90 km south of the arctic circle. The settlement has a repair and maintenance base for the river fleet, a building-materials plant, a meat and milk combine, and the Verkhnekolymskii state animal-breeding sovkhoz. There is an evening river-transport technicum and a museum of local lore.

a river in the Yakut ASSR, a left tributary of the Kolyma river. The Zyrianka is 299 km long and drains an area of 7,310 sq km. It rises in the Garmychan Range. Below its confluence with the Sibik River, the Zyrianka flows through the Kolyma Depression. The river is fed by both snow and rain. It freezes in mid-October and is free of ice by the end of May.
