Éboli, Ana de Mendoza de la Cerda, princesa de

After the death (1573) of her husband, Ruy Gómez, principe de Éboli, she is supposed by romantic tradition to have had an affair with Antonio PérezPérez, Antonio, b. 1534 or 1539, d. 1611, Spanish politician. Ambitious and unscrupulous, he became secretary to King Philip II and was, with the princesa de Éboli, a center of court intrigues.
