Arzhanov, Mikhail Aleksandrovich

 

Born Aug. 14, 1902, in the village of Efintar’, Nikolaev Oblast; died Oct. 22, 1960, in Moscow. Soviet lawyer and scholar. Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1939). Member of the CPSU from 1924.

Arzhanov worked at the Institute of the State and Law, the Institute of Philosophy of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, and the Academy of Social Sciences of the Central Committee of the CPSU. He was a specialist in questions of the theory of the state and law and of state law. He did research on the philosophical and legal doctrines of German fascism.
