Žilina

a city in Czechoslovakia, in the Slovak Socialist Republic, on the Váh River. Population, 42,000 (1970). 2ilina is a transport junction. Its main industries are machine building, cellulose and paper, textiles, and chemicals. žilina was one of the centers of the Hussite movement in the 15th century.
