Special Features:A stately, 52-room, neo-colonial mansion, Arbor Lodge was completed in1903 by Joy Morton, founder of the Morton Salt Company. House andgrounds were donated to the state in 1923 to be preserved as a monumentto Joy's father, J. Sterling Morton, the founder of Arbor Day. Furnishings in the mansion are authentic, and acollection of antique carriages and wagons is displayed in the carriagehouse.
