aerodrome warnings

aerodrome warnings

Concise information, in plain language, about meteorological conditions that could adversely affect aircraft on the ground, including parked aircraft, and the aerodrome facilities and services. These warnings are issued to operators, aerodrome services, and concerned others by the meteorological office designated to provide service for the aerodrome. Aerodrome warnings relate to the occurrence or expected occurrence of one or more phenomena: tropical cyclones, thunderstorms, hail, snow, freezing precipitation, hoar frost or rime, sandstorms, dust storms, rising sand or dust, strong surface wind and gusts, squall, and frost. The quantitative criteria, where necessary, are established between the users of the warning and the meteorological office.
