Babics, Antal
Born 1902. Hungarian surgeon; active member and academician-secretary of the medical division of the Academy of Sciences of Hungary (1951); foreign member of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR (1965).
Babics graduated from the Budapest Medical Institute in 1927. From 1929 he worked in the urology clinic of the Budapest Medical Institute; since 1945 he has been the director of the clinic. He is the author of more than 140 scientific works on urology and nephrology. He is a member of the International College of Surgeons and the International Society of Urology. He is a deputy of the State Assembly of the Hungarian People’s Republic. He has been awarded two Orders of Labor and the Order of the Hungarian People’s Republic of the Fifth Degree.
