Babinski test

A clinical test used to identify upper motor neuron disease in which the examiner runs the metal edge of a neurologic hammer, or fingernail, over the plantar surface of the foot from the calcaneus, and along the lateral border of the foot to the forefoot.

Positive test
Great toe extension with flexion and splaying of the lateral four toes implies upper motor neuron lesion.
