Audience Share

A measure of the potential members of an audience for an advertisement who have the possibility of observing the advertisement and actually do observe it (even if they do not notice it). If an advertiser is targeting everyone in a city and takes out an ad in the newspaper, for example, the audience share is the percentage of the city's population who subscribe to or at least read the newspaper regularly. The audience share may be measured by a survey or with some other tool like Nielsen ratings.
