cord cutterA person who switches from a pay TV subscription (cable, satellite or telephone company) to an Internet-based streaming service such as Netflix. The purpose of cord cutting is to save a considerable amount of money each month.
A "cord never" or "never-connected" is someone who never had such a subscription, while "cord shavers" are subscribers who have reduced their pay TV fees by eliminating certain channels. A "cord stacker" is someone who subscribes to both pay TV and one or more streaming services. See streaming. |
