colony forming unit-lymphocyte cells colony forming unit-lymphocyte cellsa subpopulation of multipotential hemopoietic stem cells located in the bone marrow that is responsible for the formation of the lymphoid elements of blood (for example, T and B lymphocytes); they resemble lymphocytes and are considered to belong to the null cell (q.v.) population.
