Beishenalieva, Biubiusara

 

Born Sept. 15, 1926, in the kishlak (hamlet) of Tash-Tiube. Soviet Kirghiz ballerina. People’s Artist of the USSR (1958).

Beishenalieva is a graduate of the Leningrad Choreographic School and has been a soloist with the Kirghiz Theater of Opera and Ballet in the city of Frunze since 1941. Her roles in national ballets include Cholpon and Aidai in Raukhverger’s Cholpon (1944, 1953) and Anar in Vlasov and Fere’s ballet (1950). In classical and Soviet ballets she has danced Odette-Odile in Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake (1950), Tao Khoa in Gliére’s The Red Poppy (1953), Esmeralda in Pugni’s ballet (1955), among others. Her art is characterized by unique national elements and a superb dance technique. Beishenalieva has been teaching at the Music-Choreographic School in Frunze since 1949. A deputy to the sixth and seventh Ģconvocations of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR and a deputy to the Supreme Soviet of the Kirghiz SSR, she has been awarded the Badge of Honor and various medals.
