Biushgens, Georgii Sergeevich

 

Born Sept. 3 (16), 1916, in Moscow. Soviet scientist in the field of mechanics. Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1966). Member of the CPSU since 1963.

After graduating from the Moscow Aviation Institute (1940), Biushgens worked at the Central Aerohydrodynamics Institute. His principal works are on the dynamics, stability, controllability, and aerodynamics of airplanes. He received the Lenin Prize in 1961. He has been awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor and medals.
