Fabre d'Églantine, Philippe François Nazaire

(fēlēp` fräNswä` näzĕr` fä`brə dāgläNtēn`), 1755–94, French dramatist and revolutionist. His chief work, Le Philinte de Molière (1790), was a sequel to Molière's Misanthrope. A member of the Convention, he was selected to devise the names for the months and days of the French Revolutionary calendar. He was guillotined during the Terror.
