[kə′ləm·nər ′sek·shən] (geology) A vertical strip or scale drawing of the strip taken from a given area or locality showing the sequence of the rock units and their stratigraphic relationship, and indicating the thickness, lithology, age, classification, and fossil content of the rock units.
