Location:Northeast corner of Washington, bordering Canada. Accessible by US 395; CA 20 and 21. Nearby cities/towns include Colville, Newport, Metaline Falls, and Republic.

Activities:Camping, hunting, fishing, boating, canoeing, rafting, hiking, ORV riding, mountain biking, swimming, water-skiing, cross-country and downhill skiing, snowmobiling.
Special Features:Forest encompasses three mountain ranges, Okanogan, Kettle River, and Selkirk, considered foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Features include Salmo-Priest Wilderness, located in the wet, western slopes of the Selkirks and containing old-growth forests of red cedar, Douglas fir, and western hemlock; 49 Degrees North Ski, a full-service ski resort; Sherman Pass, the highest pass in Washington. The only herd of woodland caribou in Washington resides in the northeastern corner of the forest near Metaline Falls.
